QUATER ONE
CHAPTER ONE
This chapter I learn a lot of topics that is very interesting. For this chapter I learn about The scale of the cosmos. Relative distances, Basic unit of Measure. From this I learn about the basic things like information of Earth and Sun (AU use for calculate the distance between Earth and Sun), What is Parsec and how to calculate the distance between stars. Also, I learn about the meaning of star, the star color that tell the temperature (Blue is the hottest and Red is the coolest), the system of stars (Binary star system and Double star system) the group of stars and stars name like ORION(The hunter) group that have Betelgeuse, Bellatrix, Alnitak, Alnilam, Mintaka, Orion Nebula, Saiph and Rigel as a members.
CHAPTER TWO
This chapter I learn about The sky, Overview of Observation Terms, such as Azimuth, Zenith, Perihelion, and What cause the Seasons. I studies about what is Constellation, Zodiac, Ecliptic and Circumpolar Constellations. Also, I learn about the example of Circumpolar, Ursa major, Ursa minor, Cassiopeia, Draco and Cepheus. In addition, I learn about Cycle of a Medium Mass star, Celestial sphere and Type of stars like Red giant, Super giant and Dwarf stars(carbon star).
CHAPTER THREE
For this chapter I learn about Cycle of Moon, Path That The Moon Take, Initial observations of the Moon, Phases and Eclipses. In this topic I learn about The Moon Movement that is about the moon revolves around the Earth in about one month (27 day 8 hour). It rotates around its own axis in the same amount of time. Also, I know more about atmosphere of moon such as in day time the temperature will be about 265 degree fahrenheit and night time will be -310 degree fahrenheit. More over, I learn about the seasons like how is it happen and I learn about why would it be difficult to live on the moon.
CHAPTER FOUR
Form this chapter I learn about The Origin of Modern Astronomy, Historical Perspective, Early Ancient Astronomers such as Copernicus, Brahe, Kepler. In this unit I learn many fun topic like origin of astronomy with the formation of calendars, the timeline in theories of the star system, and Kepler's law. Also, to be more specific I learn the changes in star calendar like Arab Calendar, Julian Calendar, Gregorian Calendar System, Claudius Ptolemy, Nicolas Copernicus and Tyco Brahe.
CHAPTER FIVE
This chapter I learn about Light & Telescopes, the Fundamental Nature of Light, Overview of Telescopes Types and Functions. I think this chapter is a little bit difficult for me. In this unit I learn about two type of telescope that is refractor (Lens) and reflector (Mirror). Also I learn that if we increase the magnification the image will less quality and if we increase the aperture then the image will be brighter.
CHAPTER SIX
For chapter 6, I study about Star light and Atom. Stellar Spectra, Doppler effect. This chapter I learn about Absorption spectrum, Emission spectrum and Wien displacement law formula. More over, Absorption spectrum is absorb some frequency of the light by use less temperature and Emission spectrum is release some frequency of the light by give the hot energy.
Sundial Experiment
In this experiment we have about 2 weeks to do it. I learn a lot from this activity such as that we need to help each other to make the project done, adapt the thing that we learning in the class to make the project successful and perfect, have team work, prepare everything before doing the experiment. All of this things I can relate to MUIDS ESLOs that is STRATEGIC LEARNERS (Plan how to learn without wasting time), INNOVATIVE THINKERS (Be creative and original), MORALLY INTELLIGENT PERSONS (Show we are hardworking and caring).
Astronomy X Chemistry
This project we collaborate with Chemistry class. We learn about Quantum Theory, Maxwell's theory, Plank's theory and Einstein's theory. From this project I learn that we need to manage the time to send the work on time, use the things that we learning in the class to adapt to our project, work hard and study hard too. I can relate this work to school ELSOs that is STRATEGIC LEARNERS (Plan how to learn without wasting time), INNOVATIVE THINKERS (Be creative and original), MORALLY INTELLIGENT PERSONS (Show we are hardworking and caring).
